Today, the Mrs took the pup n I out for what she said would be a mile walk. I grabbed the pack, thinking it would be a mile, and I wanted to add some extra. She decided to walk further, and we ended up at four miles. Her pace got faster than last week, so there was much improvement. It was a bit of a surprise, and I was out of breath at the end of four miles in 1h16m, which translates to a 19-minute-per-mile walking pace. But it nudged the pup up in the rankings on the virtual run. We are still in the top 20, with over 50 miles under our belt. Less than a hundred to go!

Ok, I’m not typing that again; less than a hundred is not as motivating as it may sound.

So, tomorrow I want to try and beat our times at about the same distance we did last week. That means we should try for four and a half miles and a pace better than 1 minute per mile. Given we have been doing consistent outings, I am confident we can do it, but I am a little worried, too. When I start competing with myself, it has historically not lasted long.

But then, it is a goal, and goals are reasonable, right? I will let you know how well we do as it will be an early morning, and I am exhausted after watching the Broadway Tina show tonight.  The traveling show was good, but not as great as I remember in New York: smaller sets and different performers. It still was very good, and I have much respect for both the folks in show biz and Tina herself. Thank you for sharing your talent with us.

I will head to bed, 5am will come very quickly.

Thanks for reading.
