Today, we start again. In the last ten days, we returned from a spring break trip to Hawaii; the oldest daughter turned 18, and we spent a week decompressing; i.e., we didn’t do any walks, runs, or exercises.

Today, we met with Coach Tony from Always Running and committed to training.

Coach Tony has trained the Mrs. before, so it was also a reunion. While much has changed in the ten-plus years since we chatted, I cannot say enough good things about Coach Tony and his approach to training. Those will likely come out in the upcoming weeks if I can keep jotting down notes consistently.

One big hurdle will be trusting the coach and following his guidance, even when it differs from what we are used to. I know Tony will push the Mrs. out of her comfort zone. She agreed, and I will help remind her that she is investing in the coach because his knowledge and experience are valued.

Tony has her run today without a run-walk break like she is used to. She did it, so the first test passed.

The next training runs will be on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. I’ll update you on our progress. Here we go!
